Have you seen the one who turned away 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
