The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
