The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
