The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those who float in space, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
