The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
