The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
