The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and gently take it away; 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
