The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
