The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
