The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
