The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow in virtue? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
