The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by those that swim serenely 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
