The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
