The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
