The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 you pay attention 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
