The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
