He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 To him you attend; 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And he fears, 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 On honourable pages. 13 exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 From what has God created him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 Not one – he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And olives and date palms, 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Some faces will shine, 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
