He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 So you are after him! 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 And he feareth 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 most exalted and purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and herbage 28 And olives and palms 29 And dense gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing and joyous 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
