The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
