The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
