The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
