The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
