The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
