The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And the Qur'an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
