The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
