The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
