The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and brightening morning, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
