Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 noble scribes, 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
