Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 noble scribes 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
