Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 when the seas overflow; 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 noble, recording, 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
