Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 noble, recording, 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
