The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 on a great day 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
