The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? 36
