The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to. 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 A book inscribed, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Verily, Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil) will be in delight (Paradise). 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
