The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A book inscribed, 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 and, on returning to their people, boast about what they had done. 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
