The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 (they said so although) they had not been appointed watchers over them. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
