The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 on a Great Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 upon couches gazing; 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 And its mixture is of Tasneem, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
