The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
