The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
