The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
