The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
