The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
