The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
