The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
