The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
