The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord and that befits it. 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
