The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
