The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
