The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
