The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
Almighty God's Truth.
